Family Retreats

At Mindfulness Academy of Asia, we conduct mindful activities that help families experience the joy of being in the present moment and being together. Parents and children are encouraged to participate in activities that foster understanding, loving speech, and mindful listening skills. The retreat takes 24  hours and requires an overnight stay.

Goals: As parents, we all experience challenges, which come in the form of stress and circumstances that make us asks ourselves, “are we, good parents?”  Sometimes, it makes us feel weary. The purpose of this retreat is to help parents experience the benefits of a continuous practice which results in mental clarity, deep relaxation, and increased resilience.

Additionally, we also discuss methods that parents can utilize to teach children about the beauty of Asian culture, social etiquette, and respect.The retreat will be a chance for you to recharge your batteries while also gaining parenting skills that you can incorporate into your daily lives and home environment. Most importantly, we are giving our children a taste of what it feels like to live without technology, therefore, learning to enjoy the beauty of nature, friendship, and family

Preparation:

What to bring: pillow and blanket (Optional: If you have a sleeping bag, bring that too.), amenities, your own food if you have a specific diet

What to wear: comfortable clothes of any color as long as it is easy for you to stretch your body, bring one white outfit for the special chant

If you have a bike for you and your child to ride, please bring them. Bring swimming suits (just in case the children want to swim).

Meals: Three meals will be provided.

Housekeeping rules:

  1. The outer bedroom is reserved for females and the inner bedroom is reserved for males. Anyone can sleep in the living room or the meditation room on the second floor.
  2. Make sure you keep everything clean and wash the dishes and glasses after every meal.
  3. Sweepers and trash cans are behind the front door.
  4. Please provide a written feedback at the end of the retreat.

Overnight Retreat for Educators

The Mindfulness Academy of Asia provides a sleeping space for an overnight retreat in this beautiful glass house in the midst of trees, lake, and beautiful garden. Dorm rooms are available during the summer, and holiday seasons. Schedules for overnight retreat will be posted after new year 2019.

Goals of Overnight Retreat for Educators: As educators, we all experience challenges that comes in the form of stress and circumstances that put us through emotional and ethical tests. These challenges can sometimes end up making us feel weary. The purpose of this retreat is to help practitioners experience the benefits of a continuous practice which results in mental clarity, deep relaxation, and increased  resilience. We will also discuss common challenges that we all face,  especially  when trying to implement mindfulness  in  our school. The retreat will be  a chance  for you to recharge your batteries and get inspired to produce meaningful work in your everyday life and surroundings

Visit to Kao Wong Temple

The Mindfulness Academy of Asia organizes one day, and overnight retreats at Wat Khao Wong, one of the most beautiful temples in Thailand. These trips are designed to take attendees away from the hassles of daily routines, in order to clear their minds, and find peace and contentment.
Situated in Saraburi province, Wat Khao Wong provides a beautiful natural scenery that allows our mind to tune into nature. The beauty of the cave, forest, and waterfalls at the temple premise is mesmerizing.
